A 39-year-old man has fronted Perth Magistrates Court charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a man six times in Perth’s northern suburbs.
Hung Nguyen made a brief appearance in court on Saturday afternoon, speaking only to confirm his name and nodding when asked whether he understood the serious charge against him.
WA Police say the 46-year-old male victim had been sitting in a vehicle parked outside a Winship Avenue home in Wanneroo just after 8pm on Thursday when Nguyen allegedly approached, stabbing the man several times before fleeing the scene.
He was later arrested and charged by Joondalup Detectives.
The victim was taken to Royal Perth Hospital where he remains in a stable condition after being treated for six wounds to his body.
It is understood the pair were known to each other, but the nature of that relationship is not yet clear.
Nguyen was remanded in custody after his lawyer revealed he did not intend to apply for bail.
He is expected to front Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on August 16.
Detectives were back on the scene in the hours before Nguyen appeared in court, door knocking homes and speaking to nearby residents.
Two residents told Nine News Perth they heard a man yelling around the time of the alleged incident, but did not witness the attack.
